I got a ton of stuff, but my favorite gift wasn't even for me. My 5 year old niece got a plasma cart and my entire family used it all day long. We're buying 4-5 more of them. lol. They're so much fun. :)

i just bought it and i like it over all. a couple things i don't like are that i cant use the chat bubbles theme and that there is no way to set the near by distance feature:(
just pinch in/out on the map to search a certain radius.

"The ONLY thing that matters in these kind of numbers is whether or not you can run an application on it." ---If it cant make a call its a different device PERIOD.
What difference does it being a phone make? If Mac OS was the most popular OS on laptops, would that make any difference? I guess it would be a cool talking point, but the fact would remain that Windows is still more popular overall.
Android having a larger percentage of phone penetration (versus OS penetration) is a similar figure. Cool talking point, maybe, but absolutely useless as an actual data point.
On the points that matter (OS penetration, individual device sales, developer revenue, available software), iOS is ahead.

I just want subscriptions on my iPad and the main point is, whether you agree or disagree with Apple's opt-in policy, this is still a major sticking point with many publications. Of all the magazine/newspaper apps I use on my iPad only 2 have adopted the new subscription policy. NYT was one of those but I deleted it because those prices were insane. I just want subscription options from Wired, Popular Mechanics and Sports Illustrated. I don't care about Apple's policy, I don't care if the publisher gets my info or not... I just want subscriptions!!!!!! I have stopped and will never pay another $5 per issue for anything on the iPad. Subscriptions or nothing!

Yeah I had my computer shut down for the weekend but it's back up and running right now. I lost out on over 100K+ :(.
I might build another computer as I have a i7 920 laying around and maybe I can run another bigadv client. I'm also looking to purchase a home soon so I may be in a out a bit while I get re-situated into my new place. I also can't be spending too much on computer goodies :D

I would be surprised if we saw a 64 bit fcp before Lion. Apples qtkit API, which is thie only QuickTime API that you can compile in 64 bit, is really, REALLY primitive. Its going to require massive updating befor you would even think of running something like fcp with it. You cannot do anything more advanced than splice two videos together with it now. Hell even enumerating all th e codecs you can export to requires going down to 32 bits, and even the stuff that does compile in 64 bit requires a separate 32 bit process to actually do the work. T e sad thing is that apple has had plenty of time to update this API but they have essentially done nothing with it, which shows you how much they care about the pro users nowadays :mad:

I really doubt Apple just shelved the whole QTX after doing a rewrite for SL, they must have been iterating it since then.

Not when there are plenty of people who don't know/don't care about such restrictions. You may refuse to do business with the studios due to their draconian rights management, but all the higher end services are covered with them. The result is you're one of the lowest spending consumers on the entertainment industry's radar.
The sad fact is, you don't want to play ball and they could care less when you're in the minority.
Do you ever wonder why you cable company doesn't offer any special limited time rates on basic cable service?
But I'm *NOT* one of the lowest spending customers... I'm constantly buying DVDs from Amazon... I don't have room for the DVDs I have as it is... My cable bill makes me want to puke.. I'd hold my entertainment spending up against any on this forum..
I'm refusing to buy the latest CRAP-laden disks, possible-broadcast flag-filled broadcasts, and downloads they're trying to shove down our throats in the future... I'm saying if they want to keep my future business at anywhere near my current rates, they better make the future DRM/Crap/etc more like what we have now, or they will loose sales..
How can that NOT be on their RADAR?

FCP is dieing. It lags well behind the other software and the killing of the xServer just adds more to it.
Killing off the Xserver will only cause a tiny ripple in the sea of 1.5 million registered FCP users, IMO. The low and medium ends of the market, where FCP dominates, don't need, and can't afford, enterprise level gear like that. And for companies that do need large amounts of fast storage to be shared between a number of bays there are non-Apple alternatives. I'm not saying that there are not companies that went "Oh, ***" when they heard the news I'm just saying I think those companies make up a very small segment of FCP users.

If TJ Maxx got their hands on enough stock who the F cares and go pick one up if you want one! I'm personally waiting for Gen 2 with FaceTime.

As mentioned above. Interested in purchasing an 8GB iPhone, does NOT have to be unlocked (I'm AT&T) and would prefer it not since people seem to believe that running a program for 10 minutes makes it worth $150 on top :).
